Hi all
We'll have a bridge activity this weekend in Centre du loisir de Cote-Vertu at the regular time. After closed a long time of our activity,most of us must be eager to play a few hands and long for meeting with the friends.So am I.
Hope to meet you guys all then(11/Jan.).

大家好！
本以为今天大家都会像我一样急切地愿意和牌友们见个面，向大家说声新年好！没想到恶劣的天气使得到场参加桥牌活动只有4人，虽然后来陆陆续续来了几位牌手，终因无心恋战而没有形成两桌，鉴于今天状况及冬季气候和交通问题，经研究决定我们将停止冬季的桥牌集中活动，分地区随兴趣由心情据情况大家分头组织行动吧。具体何时恢复集中活动，等Fmchen回来后由新核心班子研究决定。

先给各位拜个年，本人有一个提议：
今后每月举行一次正规比赛，年终累计12次比赛成绩，选出桥牌先生。正规比赛可租用房间，剩余费用成为活动经费。平时活动照常举行，用以提高牌技。
我知道这个想法未必成熟，希望各位补充。

That is a good idea. Actually more and more people are taking part in the bridge games, just kind of in different forms. Every nite we can see a bunch of familiar names in www.bridgebase.com. Also, every Friday or Sat evening, there is an activity being held somewhere. I know some of us are even preparing to their best to take part in different contests in Montreal this year.
Bill Ding, FM and Madame Ye have contributed a lot for our weekly so far. We just need some more active organizers to keep it going.

Would you like to be part of the organizers by joining FM in the weeks ahead ?

Also, I want to point out that Montreal Chinese Bridge Game Club is a very nice non-profit organization for us all to go, for fun and for friendship. Everybody is just so gentle and kind. Whatever character different people may manifest, we have been very successful in keeping a mutual respective cultural climate with support from each single participant. If I am not wrong, every participant just love to be part of the activity. I am pretty much sure, the positive culture will go on. Believe or not, our bridge game and the people with it have become part of life, to a pretty large extent.

it seems a little declining in our posting field.
i think it is interrelated with the leadership of our organization.
older one wants to retire and new one has not accepted the commitment.
fmchen has been back home, hope something new would happen.
wish the booming could occur even in so coldest winter days.   wink

How about we divide into small groups by regions?  We can have small gathering more frequenctly. I am living in St-Laurent. who are living nearby and like to play?

If weather is really bad, would people like to play on internet? Say, install some software and meet on internet to play. I know there was a software: winbridge, which could allow people play on internet in teams or in pairs.
