Ladies and gentlemen ---
Remember Patrick has published a message before about Montreal bridge contest next month. I am copying it as follows:
六月份Montreal有一个 June Festival,时间是20-23日,有兴趣的朋友不妨早点找好搭档/队友练练牌,以便到时可以大显身手。这次比赛形式很多,有双人赛、对式淘汰赛和瑞士移位赛等,总有一款适合您的。 具体事宜请参看市桥协网站:
www. montrealbridge.ca 找Tournaments即可。
My further understanding about this contect are:
1. The cost of participation is about CAD20 for one person per day, some basic drink and food may be included. Will be picked up by each participant.
2. The first day contest will be like we are doing every Sat.
3. The second day will be for teams, needing four at least for each team.
4. It is totally ur own call to take either one of them or both of them.
5. The contest site is in Saint Bruno city, south shore to Montreal.
I am aware some of us are considering to take part in it. That is great. No matter whatever result, we got to show up after one year internal exercises, as long as ur time and current budget allows for it.
If anybody would like to join the contest, either pair game or team game, find ur best partners urself, register urself on the web site as mentioned above.
Be aware that most people in here play SAYC plus various convention bids. You may not use SAYC and these conventions, but you better understand them prior to the contest in case you get lost or confused when confronting them, in view the reality that the alerts if any available may not work properly rather than to surprise u. This Jan Mr. FM Chen sent me some very good softcopy books about bridge games though I have three of them in China. One about Bergen bidding, in which most of the modern convention bids have been covered. Another very good one is about the bridge defending skills, written by Kantar, translated by a very close relative of one of our weekly Sat participants. If you wish, I would like to forward them to you in preparation of the contest.
Cheers and good luck. |
