just curious about your impression on Montreal or Canada. Canada was claimed for 'most livable' nation. On contrast to Xiamen, I am really dissapointed.

Xiamen is a nice city. I wouldn't want to move to anywhere if I stay in China. But Montreal is also nice. The food is cheap and the transportation is convenient. Xiamen has clean air, but I feel the air here is even cleaner than in Xiamen. The problem here is that the winter is too long. But long summer in Xiamen is also intolerable sometimes.

yeah. but xiamen's air quality is really better than here when I reviewed Air Quality Index (literal) for these cities. As to the long winter, what should I say. Terrible long and blooding chilly. Transportation? With public transit fare we could afford taxi in xiamen.

Believe me that the air here is better than in Xiamen. I have a bad throat which is very sensitive to polluted air. I feel better here.

I feel that Xiamen and Montreal is similar in that people don't need to earn much to live well with reasonable living expense and convenient transportation. But Xiamen is really too small for one to spend the whole life there.In addition, we lack cultural activities there. For example, there has nearly never been  performance of opera, drama,and ballet, etc while I was there for 15 years.
I enjoy life here, but I think I will go back to reside ih Xiamen when I become bored with moving.
