MONTREAL -- The Quebec government and university and junior college students have reached an agreement to end a strike over bursary cuts. Education Minister Jean-Marc Fournier is expected to present the details of the agreement later today.

The extra money will be provided by the federal Millenium Scholarship Fund. The fund will add about $20 million to the $70 million already promised by the Charest government.

The addition of federal funds means that it may be possible, within a two-year span, for students to regain all of the $103 million originally cut from the provincial bursary programme.

The Federation of University Students of Quebec will be giving a press conference this afternoon in Rimouski.

鼠目寸光！看看国内现在教育和医疗系统那两个烂摊子，新路修得再多从长远来看又有什么用？这样的社会有可能持续发展吗？说白了教育、医疗和贫富悬殊这几个问题不解决，就会成为中国潜在的、不可估量的定时炸弹！

i have join the strike parade of 100000 students .i only saw 8 chinese there.but most chinese come montreal for the bursary to study.
how could we just take money ,but when the strike need us ,we get away just enjoy the fruit of the others.
some white students have been caught by police and face judge.
i hope our chinese can give our own effort in the future for our benefit.
