i find the number, but i think you misunderstand the data. 37000 is the total deaths cases, it is not adjusted by standard data,namely per 100 000 popultaion.

再去看看那个中国死亡人口的统计，2002年死亡人口近9M，排在第10位的呼吸道感染致死为268K。比起来44K的艾滋病死亡仅占所有死亡的千分之5。

they are all the total absolute value of deaths due to HIV/AIDS per 100 000 as the adjusted standard number for counting the standard death value.

44000 means in 2003, there are 44000( after standardization  the different population structure for comparing) patient dead of HIV/AIDS in china.

370000 is the same in south africa.

this comparation method is right, we call it abosute value. this is the basal statistic skill. if you have more interest of the methods, i suggest you reading the relational article for knowing more about it.

sorry, i find my fault is i should not regard central african republic as the worest country for it is better than south africa.

china's deaths of HIV/AIDS is lower than south africa but higher than central african republic.
