sony 717很多点都不做，st-cathrine上有两家店可能有.futureshop也有，买1299.99再加税，贵啊！国内都掉到5000人民币了，没意思。可以考虑nikon的5700和minolta的d7hi。

Sony717 is an very good DC, very bright optical lense from wide angle to teleange (2.0-2.4),sharp image, very fast auto focus speed, but less features and stick memory is only limited by 128MB.
I think that newer model will come soon. Canon G5 will come within next month.

Sine Canon G5 will come soon, the price of Canon G3 has been low down. At Simons, it is only 939$. At Futurshop, it is 999$. Anyway,if you want to buy a better DC, just wait some time. In my opinion, I would like to buy a 500$ DC to use, then wait for a good one in next year. In the same time you can buy a cheaper 35mm film SLR camera(Canon EOS Ti,Nikon 75) and some good SLR lenses such as Canon and Nikon. After two years, you can afford to buy a good SLR DC.

I want to buy a Nikon 995 or 4500, but no store sell it. How about Canon A60 or A70? And how about the microfucus function?

In my opinion, Nikon 995 is too old(3MP and discontinued), you can think about its update model 4500. Except most Nikon DC have micro funtion, Olympus C4000, C5050 also have such fuction.

taohua: you should make sure. I believe $999 is G3's price.
dxzhu: you said G5 will come soon. I don't think so. if you are lucky, you will find G5 in Montreal in 4-6 months.
