My story about Rogers and Bell Canada
My story about Rogers and Bell Canada, and hope you read and protect your right.
A agent in Rogers called me to sign a residential phone plan with 12 months free northern american long distint call for $21.95/month plus tax. It sounds good. So I agreed to use the service from December 1, 2006. However, Bell Canada continued to charge me for additional three months, until March. During that time, I called Rogers to solve this problem since they switched it for me, but they asked me to call Bell Canada to cancel the residential service. From March, Rogers started to charge $4.00 more for connection fee. Worse, after 6 months, they started to charge $19.95 for long distint call. I called them, they gave me back that credit, but this happened two more times, each time they just say they had mistakes if you call.
I also signed one year contract with Bell Canada for DSL internet service. They also charged $49.95 per month after 6 months. I called, and they corrected it.
Taken together, my advices are 1) Sign a written agreement with either of them if you like a particular plan, but never make a agreement via a phone call so you have evidence to correct the overcharge; 2) never give them a authorization payment so they can charge what ever they want; 3) if they over-charge you, call them immediately to ask them to make a correction. |
