You would get 15000 aeroplan points right away on the condition that you have to pay an annual fee of $120.
Roughly the Aeroplan points program works in a way of 100 points = $1. By a simple calculation, you would find out that you would be actually buying 12000 points yourself by paying $120 when you first enroll and $120 every year.
I had one two years ago, paid $120 and got 15000 points, plus equivalent monthly expenses amount would be transfered to your points (i.e. if your balance of this month is $1000, then you would receive 1000 points in your Aeroplan).
I cancelled the card when it was the time to pay the annual fee since it does not justify. When I called to cancel the card, the Representative tried hard to keep me by offering me a cash return of $80. I refused since it was just another sales trick to make sure you would continue to pay for years.
Anyway, it depends on your specific situation. If you spend 3 or 4 thousands per month, then it may be worthwhile. |
