Something to get picky about: blueberries
Montreal-area blueberry growers have opened their fields for pickers and report "a beautiful crop" of the nutritious blue fruit. Price is about $4.95 per kilogram ($2.25 per pound) when you pick your own. The picking season should last until the end of August.

Montreal-area blueberry growers have opened their fields for pickers and report "a beautiful crop" of the nutritious blue fruit. Price is about $4.95 per kilogram ($2.25 per pound) when you pick your own. The picking season should last until the end of August.
These blueberries are the big ones we see in our stores from the U.S., but seem to have more flavour when grown in Quebec. The small, wild-type blueberries from northern Quebec are still a week or so away.
The 32 growers that form the Club Conseil du Corymbe operate La Route bleue. Visit www.laroutebleue.org and you can pick your grower and call up an enlarged map to find each location. Here are the growers:
