Most players realized that, for this hand, the key was to catch SJ, and from what East played (continued to play an H on 4th round), they knew 90% that West had SJ. Most Souths would fineness West’s SJ. When the 1st fineness succeeded, they would automatically do the 2nd one, simply ignoring (or never realized) East’s intention to upraise his partner’s trump. That’s why they failed. What is more, here I put it in 4 dummies and you can organize your procedures by reading 4 hands, but in real play, every player only saw 2 hands, it is a lot more difficult, and the possibility of making mistakes increased. |
