msb,

Sorry, but I dont think Chinese and French share close culture. Once I met a group of guys on a lobby, waiting for elevator. One of them talked in English and French. Everyone on board, I asked that guy which floor he was going, as I was infront of the panel. To my supprise, he replied in a sniffy tone, "I dont speak English!". At least, we Chinese dont possess such an arrogant culture. Ive never met such a case in the states. Very dissappointed.

Hi la neige,

I think Chinese and French culture are very close. French culture is not like american culture, the value are different.

With respect of each other, a relationship is possible.

Dear Mayi,

It's not because one man was bad with than every man will be bad. You know, in every country around the world, there are some good people and some bad.

I really believe that chinese and french culture are close.

I agree that Chinese culture is closer to French culture than any other western culture, even Japanese, although I can not find theoretic basis to support my opinion. It is just a strong feeling, because I have been to many places in France and had worked with French for a couple of years.

For example, both Chinese and French are willing to spend so much time on food. French do not like discipline, neither do Chinese. They two are much more flexible than the others  Both Chinese and French cultures are very tolerant to the other cultures.

Thanks for reply, msb.

well, your argument sounds rational. Unfortunately that was my experience. As a result, formed my first impression on French. By the way, my first impression often works. Moreover, this is my culture, Chinese one. wonder if French shares this culture or not. I cant investigate in what probability that guy reflects French culture. But should you refer to individuality, well, we wont talk about culture. And my value is based on my real life experience. In contrast, I did not have such an experience in America. hope I was wrong.

gladgirl???talked to herself on behalf of msb???

well, gladgirl, although I don't like western cuisin so much, I should say good cooks are mostly male (in restaurants). So "please don't think the cooking is made from French man is good....." is not right.
