i don't know if he deserves that much attention. he was well known for chinese is simply because of the china's propaganda back in last century. actually there are so many missionaries who went to china to help to build the school, hospitals, take care of the orphans......... in the same time. but nobody knows them.

"brain wash" is definitly the right word for this kind of phenomenon

it is a pity!!!

however, please be careful when you say "us". who do you refere to when you say "us"? there is a big difference between "Mao's communist us " and average chinese us. why don't you show any respect to those americans who went to china to help Jiang's nationalist party? beacuse you assumed Mao is better than Jiang and Mao's communist part represents all chinese.

sorry, i don't buy that, nor do lots of chinese.

白其实是反法西斯，反独裁，反恃强凌弱的英雄，不应该被毛利用来鼓动士气，在抗日后去打内战。
白如果活到内战，他会拂袖而去。如果是那样，我们还要不要纪念他？
我的看法，如果真是那样，更值得我们去纪念他。

how much do you really know about him except all those from china's propaganda? he was a typical example that Mao's communist party liked to use to promote communist's ideology. his work in china was blew out of proportion. big time!!!!

i just want to name one lady: Gladys Aylward if you really want to know someone who went to china to actually help "chinese people". you can either google the whole story of her or borrow a oscar nominated movie based on her true story (except the love story part)to watch: the inn of the sixth happiness, played by ingrid bergman.

salute to those forgotten true heroes!!!!

记念永垂不朽的白求恩大夫！！！
今年还是要向白求恩大夫献花,希望有更多的中国人会去献花,还是以自发性为主，不为什么,只为要感激这位大公无私的加拿大大夫不远万里地到中国来帮助中国人民的抗战而献出自已的生命,咱们中国人可不能忘恩啊。
黄丝带我会提早绑好在那里,大家去了把花插上去就行了。
另,希望有谁有空再做一块跟去年差不多一样的纸牌,写上几句中英文,放到碑前面吧,愿意做这事的就请报个名,如果有谁有空在11月12早上派发表彰白求恩大夫事迹的自愿同胞，也请报个名，我会提早把资料打印出来交给大家派发的。
