昨晚递交给DION的申请信内容
The Honorable Mr. Stéphane Dion
,
Opposition Leader of Canada
We are a group of Chinese in Montreal, with professions in different fields, we have different age and different immigration time, and we not only love peace, but also love both Canada and China.
We, undersigned, are writing to you to voice our concerns, disappointment and anger to the Government of Canada on the issues of Tibet in China. We would like you and the Canadian Government to understand that the majority of the 100,000 plus Chinese ethnic in Montreal DO NOT support Mr. Harper’s statement on March 20th.
We are living in Greater Montreal Area and having the same access to the information as any ordinary Canadians here on issues of Tibet. We share the same fundamental values as any Canadian born and raised here. We love peace like any ordinary Canadians, and we honor human rights just like it is stipulated in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
However, what we have witnessed here is the Government of Canada, represented by Mr. Harper, is largely ignoring basic and simple facts of violence and murders in Tibet aimed at disturbing social stability and resentments towards China, and challenging common value shared by humanity reflected through the Olympics. Mr. Harper has taken an easy moral high ground by holding up Righteousness in his hand supporting freedom and human rights. But being Righteous does NOT give you truth and fairness. It is the other way around, you have to be truthful and fairness to be Righteous. Righteousness without Truth and Fairness is just Pretentiousness.
We urge you, Mr. Dion, as the Leader of Opposition in Canada, to represent our voices in the Government and in Canada, so the Canadians and Canadian values are not lost in the simple minded and easy game Mr. Harper is playing!
Yours truly,
Signed by:
