Thank everyone here.
My parents just got the visit visa without medical exam even though they are all almost 70 years old.
Here I detail some information about their application and hope it does some help to others. Sorry in English. The PC I am using has no chinese.
1. About the documents preparation. I use the forms and follow the instructions on the Canada BeiJing Website because I will submit my application in BeiJing. In Beijing Canada, there is no detail instruction about how to fill the Application form (IMM 5257B). But there is detail instruction on the ICI canada website. On the ICI canada, there is no fanily form and education form. But the application form is same no matter which website (look at the form number: IMM 5257B). Beijing Canada does not ask for the certification of the relation between application and invitor but ShangHai Canada does ask. So I let my parent make a certified one.
2. About finacial support. I let my parent submit two certifications from Bank of China. 5,000 US$ and 30,000 RMB. The bank provide english as well as chinese certification for both money. Remember there is a rule written on the Beijing Canada: Every documents provided must be written in either english or french. Chinese documents must be with translation. If you have only chinese certification, I donot think it need to spend money to get a english certification. You can translate by yourself and sign on your name or take it to the bank and get the stampe of the bank. The total financial support from my parent is about 11,000 Ca$. when i fill the forms, i put 5000 ca$ for each of my parents. At the same time, I also provide the financial situation of mine in canada by providing bank monthly statement (recent 6 months) as well as term deposit statement. the total financial support from me is about 15,000 Ca$. Some friends are refused by the financial reason. I think it is just a common excuse. There must have some other reason that officer can not say or does not want to say. Like the friend downstair, I donot think it is the problem of money (because my parents are also 5000 Ca$ each), i believe the officer think you are in canada just half year. Too short time. OK, let them wait for a while. Loan and Bursary are aslo kinds of financial proof. You can provide them. I forgot to provide them but I got the visa. I beleive 10,000 Ca$ financial proof from each side (applicant and invitor) will be enough.
3. About letter from parents' employee.
My parents are retired. So they got the retirement proof with the stampes of president and name of employee (written in chinese). Then I translated them into english, let my parents print them out, and went to their employee again to get the same stampes on the english version. No certification needed! No money cost on it! I think that the letter from the employee just provides the proof for: 1. employee allows your parent leave china to canada. 2. you will be back because you have a job in china(for the one no retired) 3. you have salary or pansion = stable income in china. 4. you have some degree of credit (depending on the employee) in china, so you will be fine for your coming to canada.
4. I only spend money on the certification of the relation between my parents and me. Although neither ICI canada nor Beijing Canada ask for the document, the ShangHai Canada asks. So it is good to have it.
5. About Invitation letter from the invitor (us).
I put more efforts on this document because I believe this document is the critical one the officer will care more about. I write three letters. The first one I write to the officer. The second one I write to my parents in Chinese. The third one is the translation of the second one. The contents in all three letters are almost same. The only difference is the writting attitude depending on who will read the letter.
I have five aspects to declare: The first one is family reunion. how long i do not meet my parents (at least one year). why i can't go back china. why my parent should come. etc. The second one is some special reasons. My special is I plan to invite them to attend my graduation ceremony. The third one is what plan you have when your parents come. This will be the key point. I detail where, when, what I will lead my parent to visit. By the way, appraise beautiful Canada. The fourth one is why my parents will be sure go back china. they have other family in china. they like their living customers. they have jobs.etc. the fifth one is what you can promise. you should promise take care your parents when they in canada. provide food, living place, medical insurance,etc. at last sign your name by hand. The principle of letter is to become personal. Not too general. About what should say and what should not tell, there are so many friends discussed before.
6. About the employer letter of invitor. It is similar to the one for your parents. Just proof your financial situation and you are good one in canada. For students like me, provide the student certification is to state your society situation in canada. provide your bank statement to tell your financial situation. For the people neither stuident nor formal employee, you need worry more about how to proof your society situation.
By the way, MaGill Adminatration offic provides free student proof. You provide your McGill ID, you will get it printed and stampled right away with nice smill. In Concordia, filling form, paying 10 bucks, waiting 5 working days, big difference! I donot know why. It is just a peice of paper.
7. ture copy of landing paper, passport, or PR card. go to the bank with your account. the teller will copy for you and sign her name with big smill. most important is free, fast, convinent.
8.Affidict letter. you can write one following the sample in sinoquebec. but it is not necessary to othe in front of somebody or spend money. The bank can not do the job. I just sign my name. That is all. This one can be neglected.
9. 委托"Shu". Write like a introduction letter by applicant. sign & date by all the person.
