听说Montreal的所有法语公立小学从2006秋天从一年级就开设英文课， 过去是三年级以后才开的。 是不是这样？

另外在NDG区的小学里学生们是不是象西岛的小学那样，课下是用英文交流的？

上私立学校的学费可以抵税吗？

This morning, I went to the the Ecole Internationale de Montreal (primary) at NDG. I asked if a grade 6 kid studying at Ecole Internationale de Montreal (primary) at NDG is automatically promoted to the Ecole Internationale de Montreal (secondary) at Westmont. The answer is yes.

When asked if the kid is going to live at a different school district, e.g. West Island, can she still study at Ecole Internationale de Montreal (primary) at NDG? The answer is yes, but the kid needs to apply for permission from her new district school board, and there should not have any problem, because there is agreement between two school boards.

This afternoon, I called the Ecole Internationale de Montreal (secondary) at Westmont. The lady who answered the phone is not good at English.

The question I was asking is:

So, is there problem for a west island resident to attend Ecole Internationale de Montreal (secondary) at Westmont?

It depends on your child's motivation and dedication in learning French. There are some language schools here to provide intensive teaching to welcome class students. You can check the free Chinese newspaper.

For international schools, you can go to www.ibo.org and search the school information. (For high school, you need to select middle year program).

Normally, public school admission requires that you must live in the  area of the same school board.  A few schools can allow you take the exams but you must move to the school board area once you child passes the exams and decides to study there.

Actually the answer is clear -- "YES" in the condiction that your child is already studying in the International School (primary).
