我一看那个男的跳舞，我就知道他有没有训练过国标。练过国标的，身板很直，肘部向外摆，头部有点向上抬。
不过我觉得没什么问题。国标动作大是因为表演比赛用，salsa一般跟disco一样舞厅，释放感情，人越多越热闹的，自然动作是小点好。

俺从来就不喜欢国标，所以不会去练，只是非常非常喜爱salsa。练国标的人跳salsa一眼就能看出来，因为与众不同；练salsa的人跳国标一定会让老师批评却少高雅风格。一个起源于宫廷舞会，现在主耍用于表演；另一个起源于古巴街头，后来美国人把古巴Salsa和Mambo结合起来成为大众舞，才有了现在的salsa并风行全球；他们的风格有本质的不同。

昨晚San Tropez举办的demo night舞会非常火爆，好朋友都回了来玩得真开心，虽说整个夏天除周二、周四偶尔不跳舞外，其它时间一定一在跳舞，但昨晚跳得最开心

对.salsa很大众化，入门简单，感情奔放，不拘泥表演套路，年轻活力。如果我先认识salsa，我会至少跳10年才可能学国标。

Do you mean 国标拉丁舞的动作过大, so 一个大缺点? Or 中国人跳国标拉丁舞动作过大, so 一个大缺点?
Or 跳舞动作过大, so 一个大缺点?

Also when is 动作considered 过大? When is 动作 not considered 过大?

This one is profound. I really don't understand it at all.

我指：所谓受过国标舞训练的中国人，在学Salsa时，习惯把国标舞的动作带进Salsa。以我为例。我已经不断纠正十年。和别的跳过国标的中国人跳过，一样的问题。是个缺点也不是，风格不一更为确切。
  
很多中国人跳舞，注重技术而忽视内涵。舞是内涵的表达，也许那就是内涵:rolleyes:！

I think you refer to arm styling mostly.
The arm styling for ballroom dancers, International style in particular, is more elaborate.
On crowded dance floor, it can be adjusted to be more compact.
It is just common sense.
"风格不一更为确切" would make more sense.
I also notice that salsa dancers, especially women, with prior ballroom dance training have better posture, hip/core movements & balance.
The female owner of San Tropez downtown was herself a ballroom teacher in other ballroom chain prior to openning her own school.

There is also other way of experiencing dance.
How about the joy of movement?
The pure movement itself can bring a lot of pleasure as well.

Got it. agree mostly.

Agree that pure movement can bring pleasure, but couple dance, if there is no harmoney, then both sides can not feel comfortable, no comfirt then no pleasure. Don't you think so? If some one makes me feel uncomfortable when dansing, I would avoid such a person, ( like one former classmate, a black guy, dancing with him is just pure danger!! He tends to break my arms!), I'd rather go do " dance en Ligne!":p

Another thing, Ballroom dances, there are not as many turns as in Salsa, so big hip, arms and legs movements are elaborated to show off, while Salsa, the many turns will make it impossible to do big movements to show off, simply because there is no time to go too far from each other and come back fast enough to make turns together!

I love Ballroom dances, but just that it is not very popular any more. Ballroom dances are designed to show not only techniques( bigger movements express more the beauty of movements, aren't they!), but what we want to express, while Salsa, some times I feel that turns one right after another seems too much indulged in just turning, duh:rolleyes:!

Why don't you come to San Tropez to dance? You will not only feel happy to move a lot and you will see lots of people moving and having great fun, unless you have been there already and I do not know who you are;)!

当年没雪滑的时侯俺想学点跳舞打发打发时间，去舞校学点Ballroom 。后来遇到一位高手告诉俺，Ballroom 在北美巳很少有人学了，现在都在学salsa并带俺去了舞厅看看，这是俺见到的最有活力的舞，热烈奔放。

I visited San Tropez long long time ago. That makes me feel like  I'm in senior citizen bracket.
I still dance, but only occasionally these days.

Hey, I absolutely agree with you and your expression "spin-Fetish" is so damn right and funny!

I am close to 49 and weird enough I do not feel I am in the old people club, but I dance with the elderly people(60 & over) sometimes by the river side in order to warm my self up to join them when I am 90;)!!

Come to meet me and we can dance if you want. Maybe we have met by the river side at Verdun, who knows!
