I am a quick learner! I am interested in your(the employer's) industry, business, etc.
==> Ask you self: why the employer would hire you?
Other than GPA, you may have other merits valuable for potential employers: social activities involved, familarity with some industry, strong interest in specific fields, volunteering experience, etc.
==> Don't just say that you create programs with PHP+MySQL, since everybody who knows those tools would say that. You need to show you are unique, show what you have done, and what you can do.
You can create your own portfolio of website projects, prepare your own website to show your strengths, show what kind of website you are capable of designing, etc.
Also very important, if you are good at programming in specific field(eg.: e-business portal, bbs, etc.), present them clearly. That will make you outstanding from other competitors.
If you really don't have any strengths, learn sth from now, and get help from others.
==>Hidden market is always out there before being publiced. You can start to do your research on your targeted job market. Learn about related requirements, find contacts both from local people and also your Chinese friends, see what kind of help you can get from them.
Some big companies have positions for new graduates. You have to do your research on them. Learn about their business, find our their requirements. Contact them, register on their website, let them know that you will be available in May, 2007.
One more suggestion: don't hesitate to join our regular meetings on job-hunting for Chinese community in Montreal. If you feel what I wrote here is a bit helpful for you, one reason is because I got them from people who joined our meetings.
