when you sent out your application, at least some of the documents should be included, eg, police certificate, birth certificate, letters or emails between you, outgoing photos, etc.
other documents are also needed for the visa to be issued. however, it's normal because they are no required in the checklist.
i guess you didn't comply totally with CIC requirement when submitting your application.

Acturally it was my lawyer who submited the application to the Federal Immigration. The lawyer is a very famous one. But I am not so satisfied with his work.
your lawyer is really mean if he/she didn't submit birth certificate, marriage certificate ...... for you.
you MUST do something to avoid being invited to the interview, which is not welcomed. so you must try your best to supplement those documents required.
yes , i did. i am studying it. i will not ask for an english version, because I found in the booklet they gave us, you can find an english copy inside. so we can compare these 2 versions when completing the forms.

It seems that the processing speed for family reunion case is very fast in beijing. Although the speed may be different for different cases, I knew quite a few people get LP in 4 months(from his first application for undertaking). And my wife got LP in less than 4 month.
