我的nissan sentra 88年的，一直较好，今天打火有点困难，之后怠速不稳，车子有些抖，起步困难，一丢油门就死火，刚换的机油和电瓶，这车有点上机油。请问folks和懂行的大侠，是啥原因，维修大概多少钱？谢谢

Your car has more problem then those fuel injection
car.

Try add "gas line de-ice" first, which can be found
in CT and check the resistence of spark calbe,
should be less than 100K ohm, better around 5k ohm

Then, you have lot thing to do. Such as,
Clean carburettor, new fuel filter, check fuel
pump, check spark, spark cable, distributor cap/rod. New air filter. check temperature sensor.
Add 1 or 2 bottle of fuel treatment.

I will send my sentra to a cheap garage. The symptom when I started my car was nothing  except sounds of "ka ka" during my turning the key, so maybe the starter is dead.

After you tell the sympton of sound when you turn the key, I
think the starter is ok but bentix inside it is crunching with
the fly wheel, which makes the noise like 'KaKa'. So your
battery is perfect, but bendix is worn out. Dont try start it
again, it will damage your fly wheel($$$) and kill you battery
in cold winter if battery run off.

Try to ask a friend to go to buy a starter and install yourself,
Nissan is much simple to fix than Honda. No one want fix bendix
for you, just buy a complete set of starter.

Today I called CAA. They towed my car to "LuJian" because it's nearest one. But I got a "blood" experience there. I left the car in the noon, then when I came back around 4:00pm, they called an electrical technician because they couldn't find out where is the problem. "LuJian" has different policy as "hil Bailey". They "never leave out the meat in their mouth". And the technician couldn't find the problem at first. Because everything is OK. The technician checked the car and looked for information from his computer and reference book simultaneously. This is the real "do and study at the same time". Finally, they found the problem: The coolant temperature sensor for the engine. It gave out a wrong value of the temperture so that more gas are injected into the engine and this makes the engine too wet to be started. That's it. A good studying experience they got but I paid for it: I was charged by $160 cash. Wow, that's the big experience for me. Before I called CAA in the morning, I called Cite Nissan, Nissan's genuine dealor, I was told that I had to leave my car there for two days an they will charge me $35 first for checking the problem. I thought maybe I could save money for the checking in other garages like "LuJian". But I was wrong. I spent much more money in "LuJian" than Nissan's dealor. Nissan's dealor will definitely spend much less time to find the problem. They know their cars and they have a program and do checking by computer. So next time, I will avoid go to "LuJian" or similar small garages. They can do only some small and easy mechanical repairing. So whenever you have a diffiult or not general and popular problem, never go to "LuJian".

I didn't install the sensor yesterday because it was too late when they found the problem, no way to buy the new sensor. I checked the price through google, found it is around $25CAN. I will go to "LuJian" to do it then if the car has the same problem again, I will ask them to return my money. This morning at 10:00am, I could start the car. Yesterday they told me, that if I couldn't start the car again, just " press GAS pedal completely while the control of car is in parking position, then start the car." I tried it yesterday when I caouldn't start it, it did works. So next time, whenever you guys meet the same problem, don't forget to try to start the car like this. Maybe you have the same problem in sensor. If so, you can save money and avoid trouble. You'd better to send your car to "hil Bailey" or similar go reputation garages. I wish my experience will help you guys and save your money. If i can help you, I will feel better and it's worth for my experience.

Congregation, you find the solution. But your
solution is definitely NOT WORK for fuel injection
car. Your solution only works with old models with
carburettor. If doing these on electrical fuel
injection car with key-on, you will flush the engine
with gas.

The work-around on feul injection car is different
1.crank the engine for about few second,
2.step down to floor on gas paddle WITHOUT KEY-IN,
3then start the car without touche the gas paddle,
If car fails to start, repeat from 1.

This is way to evaporate the extra gas possibly
dropping from injectors or too rich mixture.

恕我直言,现在有些车友对修车很"钻".很有脱衣自己开车行的气势.如果我们都能靠纸上谈兵修好车,那每一个人都可已开车行了.这也是我离开 SINOQUEBEC 的原因之一.

FOLKS说得很对,修车技术不是我们所要的,找个好的车行才是最重要的.我理解和支持FOLKS的想法和做法.另:你刚才说的车行在那里啊?没有街的门牌好马吗?
