To Mountain Flower,
Very glad to see that you've made a big progress in dealing with the pressure and frustration at work.
As they said, "anything that doesn't kill you makes you stronger"; this is not a very comforting statement, yet it reveals the positive side of the negative experience.
I revisited this post many times before, because I'm concerned since I share the same struggle, like many other ppl here.
In this matter, my understanding is that, your #1 source of frustration and unhappiness is that, you treat him with great respection while he treat you like a crap (not your fault), and tend to blame yourself for everything that goes wrong.
NOT FAIR I would say. If you think about the real great minds in human civilizations, most of them are nice, gentle ppl, they treat others with the basic repect to every human being. If they, the big inventors, nobel prize winners, great statemen, if they are still humble and friendly and not arrogant, then, comparing to them, where is the position for this "Genesis".
Furthermore, each and every human being are born to be equal though different. Absolutely nothing can justify bad behavior and attitude to a co-operating and hard-working colleague at work. Acting like that, is simply immature and unreasonable. Now, just because it happens a lot, doesn't mean it's right.
He is not a genesis, please don't call him that. Only a few ppl in the world are real genesis, still, it's us, we, the ordinary ppl, who turns the world around- quantity matters, think about this, this genesis might be very capable, but, is he better than 10 ppl add together? If so, what about 100 people? No way.
I assume that you're in the IT industry. I'm curious to learn what great inventions this genesis hase achieved so far...maybe he invented a great programming language? or created an innovative algorithm? Those things can be done by ordinary ppl, and they have been done by ordianry ppl.
As Obama said "ordinary ppl can do extraordinary things if given a chance".
May you happy and succeed!
